ALL ACCESS is the idea that ultimately we long for our place in God’s family-both here on earth and in heaven. ALL ACCESS is a great catch phrase to illuminate the idea that through Christ’s death, we now have access to the Father, to the life of the Trinity, to eternal life. Steubenville SD, in conjunction with Totus Pro Deo, is one of fifteen youth rallies offered by Franciscan University of Steubenville. These rallies invite teens into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and enable teens to be filled with the Holy Spirit. At the heart of the weekend are the sacraments, through which teens experience God’s loving mercy, forgiveness, and healing compassion.Recommended for high school teens who need a spark in their faith.

Happy New Year and Long Time No See

I know it's been awhile, partly due to laziness, partly due to the holidays, and partly due to many new responsibilities, the blog hasn't been updated. But, with the new year and all the other resolutions people make, I figured I should at least try to start fresh with the blog.

    So here goes...
    1. Youth Group meetings continue on Fridays with dinner at 7:30pm
    2. At 8:00pm, Jr. High and High School will "Split" into separate groups and do their own things.
    3. Acts 2:42 retreat: Feb 2-3-4, 2007 (for 10th - 12th graders)
    4. Mustardseeds retreat: Mar 2-3-4, 2007 (for 7th - 9th gradres)
    5. Youth group finally has a semi-official room / office / storage space at church. We were given the bulletin boards and the cabinets in the Kindergarten room. Okay, so one side of the room will be bright shinny colors and cutsie decorations for kides, but the entire other side of the room will be dedicated to Youth Group!

With that, I leave you with a simple question. What are you doing for the big man, his son, and their love (father, son, spirit) now that the new year has begun?

    Who's Yo MAMA?

Did you know, that October is a month dedicated to the Rosary? In honor of this month, this friday's Life Nite will be about who else... the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God (theotokos). Here's a brief preview of the evening:

7:30 - Dinner (and it's NOT going to be pizza) thanks to albert and daniel's... MAMA.
7:45 - Game Show - How Well Do You Know Your Mama featuring Nick, Chris, Edmond and... their MAMAs
8:00 - Video (robert/albert) Teaching (Jerome) Prayer (JHwang) Sending (Eric)

Don't miss out and don't be late. The ministers have been working hard to prepare this evening for you. It will be lots of fun and lots of information about... OUR MAMA.

Where did the Rosary Come From?

How do we know that "Hail Mary" is biblical?
The Angel Gabriel to Mary (Lk. 1:26-38).
    Elizabeth to Mary (Lk 1:45).

    Prayer Requests & Inspiration

    A few things...

    1. Keep those prayer requests coming. So far, Ed and Christian have requested your prayers. Please keep them in your prayers and request any of your own. We'll keep them in our hearts.

    2. According to LIFETEEN, parishes have been requesting Ticket Requests for Inspiration in the 100s... that's right. 100s! So, we need to move up the deadlines. Please turn in your permission slips and your $45 within 2 weeks. Even then, we may have to take a waiting list.

    peace - dave

I would like to pray for...

    Hey everyone,

I would like to ask all of you who check this blog, to post about someone who you'd like to specially pray for, during this Friday's "Choo-Suk" service. You can choose to post their name, or just a description of their relationship to you. For example, "a friend who..." or "a family member who..." or "someone at school who..."

Then, I ask that you read the comments from others, and keep all of those mentioned in your prayers for this week.

    peace - dave

    A reflection for today...

    My Angel Near and Dear

Unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3

Some of us adults find it hard to believe in guardian angels. It sounds like something you tell children at bedtime to help them sleep when they are afraid of the dark. We might believe that we have grown beyond such childhood fantasies of a safe world where heavenly beings watch over us.
Perhaps this is why Jesus admonishes us, “Unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” Children have enough imagination and innocent hope to believe in a God who hovers over them and watches their every step.
The Church teaches that we have that kind of a loving, protective God. One of the ways this God hovers over us is in the form of heavenly spirits whom we call guardian angels. St. Jerome wrote, “What a great dignity of souls, that each person has, from birth, an angel assigned as guardian.”
What might be our response? We might first raise our hearts to God and give thanks for this constant, loving care. And then we might thank these heavenly beings whose joy it is to walk with us through life. – Fr. Stephen J. Rossetti

Who Are We - St. Raphael Youth Group

High School - Communal Life -
    Acts 2:42

"They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers."

    Jr. High - Mustardseeds -
    Matthew 13:31-32

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the 'birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches."
